High Accolades for the Spa Hotel Zedern Klang****superior:
Austria's 1st eco-Hotel
During the East Tyrolean trade show in Linz (25.-27.09.2009), our Spa Hotel was awarded the Climate Hotel “A” certification, the highest possible distinction of quality in the field of a sustainable hotel industry. That means that we are the first Hotel in Austria to have received this international climate accolade for sustainable and energy saving design.
The Eco-Hotel Certification is a seal of quality for sustainably built hotels and is synonymous with low operating and maintenance costs. A top-class group of experts from the ecological house agency (registered in Bozen) evaluated the Spa Hotel Zedern Klang****superior against tested quality criteria around related to ecology, operating efficiency and socio-cultural aspects. The certification is awarded in several categories (with the highest award being A), depending on the fulfilment of the individual quality criteria. Even in the building phase, an emphasis was placed on the use of environmentally friendly natural building materials. Efficient and energy saving heat insulation allows for an extremely energy-efficient hotel.
Holidays in unison with nature
The Swiss stone pine and cedar elements used in the interior decoration create a unique micro climate which makes the surroundings particularly pleasant and beneficial for your health. Healing qualities are attributed to the energy-rich cedar wood and it symbolises the ‘near to nature’ philosophy of the Spa Hotel. The energy required for artificial lighting can be minimised through the liberal use of glass and the wellness area was also designed according to sustainable criteria. Hence, no chlorine is used in the Hotel’s swimming pool, but natural salt water.
The hotel’s owner, Tatjana Maksimova said: “we are proud to receive this award as the first eco-Hotel in Austria. In the future, we will also work to do justice to this title.”
