Hohe Tauern National Park
A piece of an ideal world in the heart of the Alps – dip into adventure Hohe Tauern National Park
As the biggest natural conservation in the Alpine region, the Hohe Tauern National Park is spread over an area of 1,834km² and lies embedded between the highest mountains in Austria.
The Hohe Tauern Nation Park was established in 1981 as the first national park in Austria and today presents itself with an imposing natural landscape in three separate districts, Tyrol, Salzburg and Carinthia.
- 80km² glacier
- 400 mountains with an altitude of over3,000m – amongst which is the highest mountain in Austria, the Großglockner (3798m) and the Großvenediger (3674m)
- Uncountable waterfalls, mountain lakes, springs and steep faces
- Colourfully blooming alpine pastures, Swiss-stone forests and a unique animal kingdom open themselves up to visitors.
The National Park has many attractions to offer and is an Eldorado for adventurers and those looking for rejuvenation.
Life in unison with nature and the conservation of our environment is very close to our hearts and therefore the Spa Hotel Zedern Klang gets involved as a partner with the Hohe Tauern National Park. Situated right on the edge of the natural conservation area, our Spa Hotel offers the ideal starting point for exciting journeys of discovery into the wonderful plant and animal world of this high-Alpine natural treasure.
Here, you can experience romantic valleys with farming villages maintained in their original condition around the Großglockner and Großvenediger and, with the things on offer from the Natural Park, unusual natural experiences and insights into the fascinating cultural landscape open themselves up for the interest of nature-lovers.
For example, you can explore the Hohe Tauern National Park glacier with professional supervision, undertake tours of the summits, observe chamois and golden eagles, or as a highlight and together with a national park ranger, based from the National Park district of Kals, overcome the Großglockner.
A landscape ideally suited to a relaxing holiday, in which you cannot just draw in strength but where you can also acquire a better awareness of life.
Far away from mass tourism, you discover the positive rays and strength of the East-Tyrolean cultural landscape in which people still build on inherited traditions and the value of nature.
We look forward to being able to welcome you to the National Park community of Hopfgarten!
